An amazing facility but sadly miss managed by Heads of Departments.
The nurses are wonderful and are a credit to the unit. The perceived view would be of an intense physio atmosphere. Unfortunately all physios are part time and there is little enthusiasm and cohesion regarding treatment. The OT who is also part time appears to have a very limited knowledge and is not at all practical. Most patients only received very limited physio and OT sessions.
The Matron is unfortunately unapproachable and there is a very strong atmosphere of favouritism both towards staff and patients.
The unit as a whole has done some amazing things for patients but you need to be proactive and chase for what therapy and treatments you require.
I am upset to see such a valuable NHS resource not being used to its full potential.
