"Parking Eye"

About: Sunderland Eye Infirmary

On 26th September I visited the Eye infirmary with an infection. As I could not drive my husband drove me. He dropped me off at the main entrance and I told him to wait (we had two small children with us) while I found out how long I would be. When I went to book in the receptionist was not there and there were 4 or 5 people waiting before me. It took about 20 minutes to be seen and booked in, I was then told that it would be approximately an hour and a half before I would be seen by a doctor. I told my husband to go home. When then received a fine through the post for £40 along with photographs of our car entering the car park and leaving it a time of 23 minutes. As previously stated we did not park in a bay. I have since received another fine for £70. These fines are extortionate considering you can park for an hour for £2.
