"The doctor was professional but ..."

About: Royal Free Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The doctor was professional but it took me over three hours to get to see her.

What could be improved

I have arrived at the A&E unit with breathing difficulties. After checking that I was not having a heart attack, all the nurses wanted was to get me out and back to the waiting room. Because I was feeling really sick and dizzy I was not able to stand on my own. The nurses didn't care, they just wanted me out and after telling me that "I looked comfortable and I would be better in the waiting room" they even attempted to drug me dizzy I was not able to stand on my own they attempted to pull me out phisically. Having realised that I couldn't stand up they left me in a chair for futher half an hour and I could hear them sayng that I was just having a panic attack. I was asking for a glass of water for ages before one of the passing doctors took pity on me. As soon as I could stand I was moved to the waiting room and left there wheezing and choking for hours. Once again I had to beg for a glass of water as I couldn't get one myself.

I therefore suggest that you have a water fountain in the waiting room as well as retrain the nurses to treat patiens as people not as animals.

Anything else?

I have spent £70 for the emergency childcare and during the four hours at the hospital, which was not busy at the time they didn't even have time to take an x-ray.
