"Excellent nursing staff on Ward 5"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Trauma & Orthopaedics (Wards 1 & 5)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to ward 5 after breaking my ankle. I can't praise the nursing staff too highly. They were all - without exception - friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure me and their other Patients were comfortable.

All the nursing staff introduced themselves and let me know their roles. It would be nice for the doctors to do the same as a matter of routine as well. It would also be nice to know who the different staff members are - ie by colour of tunic. It took me a while to work out who was nursing staff and who was auxiliary staff for instance.

Dear Mrs H-EK,

Thank you for sharing your kind comments regarding ward 5 staff and your experience with them at this traumatic time.

I am delighted to share your comments with the staff as they are working hard to provide a person centered service whilst providing a high standard of care and compassion.

I hope you are recovering well at home.

Kind Regards

Gwen
