"The Nurses of A&E were very ..."

About: Basildon University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The Nurses of A&E were very sympathetic towards my two year old who had hurt his leg.

What could be improved

the communication between doctors and the ability to listen to a parents concerns need to be improved.

The reception staff of A&E need a lesson in compassion and manners. I visitid the Hospital twice in one week and both times they were unable to give me an appointment for the allocated time the doctor recommended and it was just met with shrugs from these people.

Anything else?

On the first visit, having waited for an hour to be seen by a triage nurse and seeing others go in before us, i went to enquire and was given the impression my son was not on the system and was quickly put through on the next turn.

two seperate visits and two xrays - two different doctors said there was a shadow on my sons foot or leg but wasnt sure so we were sent on our way with calpol, even though i was voicing my concerns that he was limping and falling over all the time 'nothing needed to be done'
