"More people should speak up"

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

Family Member had a procedure for Cataracts and metal came out of their eye a day later. More people should speak up and complaints should be listened too and acted upon. They are now scared to use the hospital again.

Thank you for alerting us to this incident and I am sorry that a patient receiving treatment here developed a problem the next day. It would be very helpful if you could contact me directly so that we can fully investigate this incident and look at what happened that day. We always endeavour to follow up and investigate complaints and concerns and I am happy to do so on this occasion. I would be grateful if you could contact me either by telephone or email. Thank you.
