"Contrasting experience"

About: Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Trust HQ / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My relative was admitted to the CCU last week. The staff were incredibly helpful & reassuring keeping us up to date every step of the way during this worrying time. The ward seemed really clean & noise was kept to a minimum. They checked on my relative very regularly & made sure they understood everything that was happening.

Contrast this with the level of care received on Birch Ward & it was quite different as staff seemed too busy to check on my relative. The majority of the day they only saw staff who were bringing in hot drinks. The ward was noisy & the room had damp spots on the walls.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us – we really value your comments. Whilst we are pleased to hear that your experience on CCU was a positive one, we’re sorry you felt the experience on the ward wasn’t at the same level. Unfortunately due to the extensive building work on our new main entrance, we understand that at certain times of the day it can be noisy for patients, visitors and staff. Please be assured that we are/will do everything we can to work with the onsite contractors to minimise disruption as much as possible.

If you have any other concerns that you wish to discuss with us, please do not hesitate to contact our Patient and Family Support Team on 0151 600 1517 or 0151 600 1257.
