"Let down by Leeds IAPT"

About: Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I feel let down and shocked by the lack of compassion of the assessment process. I was told that 4 suicide attempts that included being hospitalised only means I not sufficiently depressed and should take a stress management class, is slightly insulting and has increased my sense of hopelessness. I now have no chance of getting counselling and have very little hope of sorting out my issues. There is really no allowance for individuality in the assessment process. Rating how depressed you are, and how much you are struggling out of 8 is a ridiculous notion. It is completely subjective, and based entirely on that individual experience of 'normality'.
