"Unacceptable treatment."

About: East Surrey Hospital

My mother has received excellent care in the A&E department and from the AMU ward.

She is now on Capel ward and receiving good care with some good and caring nursing.

My mother came into hospital in a serious condition which was obviously tremendously frightening.

We appreciate that tests have been performed and it takes time to analyse and interpret the results.

Unfortunately we are still waiting to see the Neurologist and now have been waiting for over four days (six if you include the weekend when we didn’t see a doctor at all).

The drugs which the neurologist prescribed made my mother very sick and she has now been taken off them by a different team of doctors where is the continuity?

Who is actually making these decisions and at what cost for the long term health of my mother?

What symptoms, causes, conditions etc. are being missed by the lack of cohesive care?

We have been told continuously for four days that the neurologists have been informed and will be attending in the afternoon.

Why are we being told this when in is not happening?

We are unaware if the neurology department appreciates the shockingly poor reputation they have within the hospital from many, many different staff members in regards to their attendance or distinct lack of it to patients on the ward but we can testify that it is really not good.

Leaving the patient and the family without any answers, help or support after a serious illness is just cruel and uncaring.  I appreciate you have thousands of patients and are very busy but this unacceptable.
