"Chest Pain investigation"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

Having waited four weeks for a consultant appointment I was advised that a stress echocardiogram would be required. After my appointment the consultant for whom I have nothing but praise for handed me a note to pass to Cardiology Investigations reception in order to arrange this. This was handed to the receptionist who informed me that an appointment date would be sent to me within the next week. Two weeks later as I had heard nothing I called Cardiogy Investigations and was told no record of my appointment request was on file and that I needed to chase this with the Consultants Secretery. I am now advised that this could take a number of weeks. I have since been readmitted via A&E as my chest pain has become more intense. I am very disappointed that the Cardiogy receptionist did nothing with my initial request and as a result I now have to suffer in pain because of their incompetence.

I am so sorry to learn about these delays.

Please will you give the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) a ring on 01227 864314 or 01227 783145 and they will look into this and do their best to sort this out for you.

If you find that you get the answerphone, please leave a message and I will guarantee that they will get back to you.
