"Urology Surgery"

About: Airedale General Hospital

On the 27th January I was admitted to Ward 20 at Airedale Hospital for a planned operation. This operation was arranged after being referred to the consultant by my local GP.

I am writing to say a very big thank you to all the departments and staff that I had the privilege of visiting/meeting. Every department from the assessment at the consultant's clinic to my last day on Ward 14 I was cared for by very professional and caring hospital staff.

The Pre Operation Assessment nurses were understanding of the situation and answered every question I asked with detail and tests were taken with careful consideration of my future journey into the unknown.

The Pre Operation Ward staff had the ability to not only prepare me for surgery but also to lighten the environment with humour and very professional care.

Anaesthetics and Surgery.

Very professional and caring.

A team working so well together.

I had no fears only total trust in the consultant and their team. The Recovery Ward and its staff were true professionals and as I waited I observed the care for all the patients who were either admitted or being taken to the appropriate wards.

Ward 14. The staff were all very caring and understanding of my trip into the unknown. Staff, from cleaners, catering, all levels of nursing, through to senior staff and doctors were all of the highest of standards.

A general thank you is not sufficient. I would like to have had the opportunity to express my thanks to everyone who was involved in my visit, but I know that is impossible. I would however ask that my feelings be conveyed to the senior members of the above mentioned departments.

Yours, most sincerely

Gerald Peters
