Worst hospital Iv ever been to!! The staff just stand around chatting; they also have zero common sense!

We went in for chest pains and waited 2 and a half hours to been seen by a nurse. 30 minutes to see triage who didn't even listen to the chest! Would defiantly not come here again! Will trace further to go to the BRI

Dear Anonymous – thank you for posting your experience of the emergency department at Southmead. Unfortunately the order of events you mention is not what I would expect. Normally patients are triaged to assess their immediate needs and then prioritised to ensure they are seen by an appropriate member of the emergency team in an appropriate timescale. This obviously depends on many factors and will vary according to the number of patients attending and the severity of their conditions. I apologise that your experience was so poor, and due to the demands on the service staff were not able to meet your expectations.
