I am feeding back about an ambulance due to excessive exhaust fumes entering the interior while in transit. I believe this condition has been reported on a number of occasions by the ambulance crews that operate this vehicle and that all reports from your mechanics say there is nothing wrong with the exhaust system.
May I suggest that they check the exhaust tail pipe extends out with the footprint of the vehicle to ensure that no backdraught is causing exhaust fumes to be drawn in under the ambulance while in motion?
The patient being transported to hospital suffered loss of consciousness due to loss to blood oxygen saturation as a result of the levels of carbon dioxide within the vehicle. This was noted and monitored by both the patient's own breathing apparatus which was in use and the on board monitoring system of the vehicle
