"Lister Hospital Ambulance Drivers are a..."

About: Lister Hospital

I 'm writing this on behalf of a family member who is a old age pensioner,

The care shown by lister hospital was below standard for a western hospital and the

after care has been disgusting by the hospital ambulance drivers.

This patient needs to attend hospital every other day and due to an operation can not drive or be driven in by someone. They must use the hospital transport, which have been deeply

disrespectful and very unprofessional.

Examples complaining about having to lift the patient out off property even though it is

on the driver notes.

After treatment which can take up to five hours, They are left in a cold corridor for another

five hours waiting for transport with driver walking pass and when asked about transport,

the reply they get every time is it's not my problem your not on my list.

Then when transport does take them home, which is 7 min to 10min drive, they inform the patient that they are going out off town first so it take him about 45min to 1 hr to get home

even though on every occasion they need to drive pass the patient house, while all the

time making joke at the patient expense. ie (now we need to drive to south end before we drop you off).

I believe there is more of this behaviour and will be funding a full investigation through my QC and passing there findings onto the BBC once i am back in the country and have spoken more to the family member involved.

Thank you for posting your concerns about your relative's care at the Lister, especially the hospital transport service that is provided by an independent contractor and not the hospital itself.

Whilst of course you are free to engage with anyone you wish over these important matters, we are also very happy to investigate these concerns.

Perhaps you might contact us on generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net so we can do this for you.

We understand that this may need to wait until you have spoken to your relative, but the offer to help stands.
