"appointment system in rehabilitation"

have just come off the phone from a consultants secretary.

 In August last year the secretary arranged an MRI and then said they would see me in a years time. It was only later I thought shouldnt I have an appointment sooner to discuss the results of MRI.
 After repeated phone calls the secretary said I would receive the results via a letter, which I did not by the way.
 I went to my GP and asked about this, they gave me the results and decided I should see an orthopedic spinal consultant again and have set this in motion.
 
The pain is getting worse, so I phoned the rehab secretary to see if I could see the rehab consultant sooner, again after much hard work the secretary said they would make me an appointment in February.

 We are now in Feb and surprise surprise, after phoning the appointments there is none for me, the next available one is in April.

 I phoned the secretary again who said the request must have got lost, the consultant and the consultant's back up doctor are both on holiday and there s nothing they could do.

the secretary says go to your GP if you are in so much pain, which I have done, (so do they think I am stupid), or go to A and E, have done so, and they have sent me home. They then replied what do you expect me to do then I am only a secretary not a doctor. Well I expect them to do their job and get me my appointment they promised.

In the end I ended the conversation as I was getting very frustrated, angry and upset. I am now sat at home in absolute agony and despair. I thought that this visit would be able to get me to see the spinal consultant quicker, or that they could give advice my GP could not, or give access to the physios there again. My GP has written to the spinal consultant again as I have been waiting since the December. Going to A and E, the doctors there just blame it on muscle spasms because of my other problems. I do not know what to do anymore except sit here and cry in despair.

I am getting nowhere fast except into dangerously deep depression, thank you for nothing Rehab center.
