"Diabetic's Hypo attack could have been avoided- Royal Hallamshire"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

(as the patient),

I stayed on I1 at the Royal Hallamshire, where I was for the removal of nasal polyps in May.

As I am diabetic, I had to go in the day before so that I could have a sliding scale inserted, this didn't happen until the day of the op. I kept asking when am I going down for the op but they couldn't tell me, as the list for the operating theatre had not arrived, therefore I had no breakfast (I could have eaten before 6am) my operation was pm therefore I could have had breakfast but instead had a hypo at 2.30am, which was not a nice experience and could have been avoided.

There was a lack of communication between the operation theatre and the wards.

On Ward I1 there was nurse called Lean, she was very nice. Thank you.
