"Some failings"

About: Scarborough General Hospital

No care plan discussed with patient or family members

No update provided to family on patients condition or day to day treatment - we asked nursing staff on each visit what was happening with my mum but no info given.

Mums meals were always cold - she was last on the ward to be served. On more than one occasion they had run out of the meal she had ordered. The food was unappetising and barely nutritious. Have they forgotten everything James Martin suggested!

Waited over 2 hours for mum to be discharged and found medicines to be missing from discharge sheet once at home.

Lots of staff at nurses station but nobody even asked if they could help when I wanted to enquire about my mum - too busy handing sweets around.

Overall not impressed with this hospital. Decent medical care for patient but they need to work on the relationship with the would be 'long term carers' of the patient. Would not recommend.
