After having had the last of 4 heart attacks in October 2014, I was fitted with a Pacemaker/ICD in Hairmyres Hospital.
I attend the Cardiology Department in the same hospital for checks on the Device and have nothing but good to say about the treatment I receive. The ladies who carry out the checks treat me with the greatest of respect, are caring and work in a very professional way.
The ICD has shocked me 7 times on 4 different occasions and although it is a wee bit frightening at the time the ladies are reassuring in that the device is working properly and doing it's job.
Thank you to all the medical staff who work in the Cardiology Department of Hairmyres Hospital as without the expertise of you all I doubt that I would be here to tell my story.
They explain everything they are doing in layman's terms and answer any question that I may pose no matter how trivial.
