"The care and concern for my wife ..."

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The care and concern for my wife in Anthony Letchworth ward, was superb, the staff are to be commended

What could be improved

Contact with Carer/husband. As the person who would be looking after and caring for the patient for 6 weeks or so after being discharged from the hospital, I was totally frozen out, ignored and treated as if I didnt exist. I had no knowledge of what care to give, what medication or anything, which is utterly ridiculous. If decent aftercare is to be given to patients then Husbands/or even relatives who are to look after the patient must be involved and told what care to give, medication or whatever.

Anything else?

Treat husbands of Gynae patients with respect, weve got to nurse the patient too.
