My husband went to A/E on Feb 6th 2016 because of a swelling on his leg. A/E staff sent him round to Medoc where he was given an appointment for 3.30am Sunday morning which is disgusting. He went for his appointment and with in minutes he was sent up to see the Orthopedics and he was than told he needed an emergency operation as his leg was infected and he had blood poisoning. I don't understand why the staff in A/E sent him home only to come back at half 3 in the morning. While his stay in Medway he was in Pembroke ward which was really nice and the staff was really friendly and helpful. He needed a 2nd operation on 9th Feb to remove more of the infection when he come back on the ward he was put in a separate room still in Pembroke because of the infection in his leg was contagious. The room was poorly equipped the blinds didn't close and the window's was open and myself and the nurse's couldn't shut them. My concern is for an elderly gentleman or woman who would go in there next would be absolutely freezing.
"Husband treated poorly in A/E."
