"(Knee) ACL Reconstruction - Excellent service!"

I recently had my ACL reconstruction performed at the Peninsula Treatment Centre and they were excellent! Everything was quick, everyone was extremely friendly, kind and caring. From the admin team that booked me in asap, to the surgeon and nurses that operated and recovered me, I can honestly say i could not be happier with the service.

The physio team were also amazing, and they acted fast when i almost fainted. Here's what happened; I needed the loo after my operation (i'd been awake for a few hours and it was time to try walking with crutches anyway) so my physio helped me up and to the loo, whilst i was sat doing my business i felt a wave of heat rush over my body, and my vision became increasingly blurred, my physio called in to check i was ok, i responded with my symptoms, and no time was wasted in rushing in and calling the crash team right before i was about to faint. Within moments, a large team of varying professionals appeared from seemingly nowhere, ready and able to help get me stable again. I was helped back to the bed and felt instantly better when i laid down, and i was told it was the anaesthetic that had caused the near faint experience. I was extremely impressed at how quickly everyone reacted, and i am thankful to my physio for the quick thinking. I was also lucky enough to have my boxers up before the team arrived!

I would like to thank everyone at the treatment centre for their help, and would happily recommend them to anyone requiring surgery that can be performed there, even if your surgeon is usually based at Derriford, as mine was.
