"Major spinal operation"

About: Nuffield Health, Leeds Hospital

I had an op here at Nuffield on the 4th of Feb 2016.

I was taken to my room at 0705 & then things started moving, The ward Doctor came in and went through the usual sequence of questions, then the Nurses started doing the checks and got me ready for surgery.

My Surgeon came to see me with a big beaming smile to greet me, went through things with me, left me totally relaxed.

The anaesthetist came and went through the procedure again, left me 100% relaxed and ready.

Being disabled to start with meant that I needed help with everything - I got it and couldn't ask for better care.

I was made comfortable and dozed off into a sleep, next thing was a nurse came to take me down for my op, got into the anasthetic room and was greeted again by the anaesthetist, next thing was I opened my eyes in recovery room all done and sorted, taken back to my room and was brought the food I had asked for.

Regular checks were made throughout the rest of the day and through the night.

I was in and out of bed several times through the night which was hard work for the staff but they fully understood and were ever so nice.

Eventually I did manage to doze back off again in the early hours.

Morning came round and my Surgeon came, told me exactly what they had done and left me to a beautiful breakfast.

The food at Nuffield is 1st class, all being made and cooked on the site.

I cant thank them enough for what they did, and am now sat here less than 48 hours after able to move about with not a deal of problems.

Every step of the way I was given total dignity and help when I needed it.

Thank you every one at Nuffield your care and commitment is well appreciated.
