"Hip Fracture"

About: Kettering General Hospital

I was taken by ambulance to A&E after a heavy fall at home early on a Saturday evening.

Confirmation of fracture and underwent operation following Sunday morning.

I have nothing but praise with the efficiency, compassion and communication that I received during my stay.

Although there was pressure to discharge perhaps a little early - sorted out amicably by the Ward Doctor.

I returned home to mobilise after more staircase training, adequate home aids and boosted confidence - 70's age group

Thank you KGH

I am pleased to hear that your fracture was promptly diagnosed and that you were happy with the care provided by the Trauma and Orthopaedic department. The hospital tries to discharge patients as soon as it is safe to do so. It is usually best and safer to rehabilitate patients in the familiar environment of their own home. I am glad that everything worked out well for you in the end and that you are recovering well from you operation.
