having had a TIA, the battery of tests following this revealed a 95% blocked left carotid. i was talked through the option of a carotid endarterectomy and was first moved to the assessment ward and subsequently ward 21. the procedure and associated risks were communicated very clearly by the registrar. each member of the medical staff introduced themselves to me including the nursing staff who would provide post operative care. i knew exactly what was going to happen and at what time.
the quality of care was outstanding. thank you everyone
