"Didn't feel we were the priority"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

I fully appreciate the pressures on the NHS but our experience wasn't great. Happy to wait when it is really busy but the staff on ward 8, whilst very friendly, left the impression that staff chats and sociability was a priority over patients. On several.occasions people waiting came back to say that the staff were chatting and having a laugh in the triage room whilst patients were left waiting for information or an update.

It made me reassess my opinion that staff are overworked and stressed, is there another side to this story?

Dear reviewer, thank you for taking the time to review the service you received at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

We are sorry if you felt that you were not given the necessary time or attention during your stay on Ward 8.

Your comments have been reported back to the team involved and if you would like to contact Jenny Carlin, Matron email: jenny.carlin@uhl-tr.nhs.uk with the details (name, address and hospital number) they will most certainly look into this for you.

Best wishes, Communications Team, Leicester’s Hospitals.
