"Very impressed"

About: Broomfield Hospital

My sister was admitted into hostel at the age of 28 having suffered a stroke. Due to her not displaying typical symptoms it was down to a switched on sister that we first met in A&E who identified her condition straight off the mark and pushed for what they believed in despite their colleagues doubts. Because of this my sister was treated quicker and the damage limited - thankfully. We owe everything to this particular sister and the team at E125 for their ongoing support, encouragement and care from my sisters nursing needs to plaiting her hair to make her feel better. The consultant was also very good taking time out to speak to family members and I felt as if they had all the time in the world for us. Despite the immense pressure staff must be on they are working exceptionally hard and deserve all the credit they get. Absolute unsung heroes. The only criticism I would have would be of a bossy member of staff who seemed to enjoy throwing their weight around when it come to having visitors over in the allocated time slot- they had no people skills and in such distressing circumstances somewhat put our backs up but we will be taking this up as a separate issue. Other than them E125 keep up the exceptional work - you are making all the difference to patients and their families. Thank you just doesn't seem enough.

We really appreciate the wonderful comments about our sisters in A&E and Stroke, the consultant and the wider teams. I have shared with the Associate Chief Nurse who will share with the teams.
