About: Stroud General Hospital

Having had a minor surgical procedure the previous day, I encountered a small but worrying problem when trying to change the dressing. I'd had a bad experience following the same procedure several years ago, which heightened my apprehension.As it was early evening my only possibility was the Minor Injuries Unit, although I felt foolish, embarrassed by the smallness of the problem. "This is a minor injuries unit and that is a minor injury " was the receptionist's perfect response.The nurse who saw me was similarly thoughtful and reassuring, re-dressing the small arterial wound more effectively, and with clearer care instructions, than the hospital where I'd undergone the original procedure. And all within 45 minutes. Thanks.
