"Treatment of elderly relative"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

To whom it may concern

Re treatment at A&E on Tuesday 1st September 2015

My 92 year old mother and I would like to express our sincere gratitude for the wonderful care she received on Tuesday. Yes there was a wait on a trolley in a corridor but we were kept informed at all times about the potential wait and the number of people in front of her and quite unprompted too. The kindness plus communication skills of all the staff was quite exceptional and I do not write this lightly. As a former nurse, tutor and Mayor of Diss I am used to assessing people's skills, personalities not to mention practices and at no point was I concerned. Nurses, health care assistants, the lovely doctor, all were brilliant. I should like to mention how very impressed I was especially with one member of staff who wore a light brown uniform, unfortunately I can't remember their name. My mother needed a bedpan and she was called to X-ray just as the member of staff was about to sort it out. As soon as my mother returned they were straight on it without prompting, a special thank you, it took the stress and worry away from me and at no time did I feel I had to make a fuss to get any sort of care it was just there. Thank you so much to all. A wonderful job and team effort by all the staff. Thanks for the cup of tea too! It was very welcome. Jane
