"The Stroke Ward"

My mother was admitted to the Stroke Ward recently and stayed there for about 10 days. Initially she was in the high dependency part of the ward then moved to the less intensive nursing area. She was pretty confused and disorientated and for a few days a challenging patient, my sister and I visited frequently and were met with staff displaying understanding, compassion, patience and a highly professional attitude. All the staff were friendly and very kind to my mother from the ward manager, all the other nursing staff, the health care assistants to the cleaning personnel.The occupational and speech therapists were endlessly patient especially one who did a home visit. (My only one slight criticism was that it would have been much better if the consultant introduce themselves by name and role when discussing the patient with relatives).
