"Excellent care at Purley Minor Injuries Unit"

I brought my 4 year old son, to the Minor Injuries Unit at Purley in January 2016 because he had, had an accident at school where he had fallen and gashed his head.

On arrival we only waited ten minutes or maybe less to be seen (which was good in itself).

My son was anxious about the bandage being taken off his head for the Nurse to see his injury and it was his first experience at having to go to hospital for an 'emergency'.

Not only was the Nurse kind and patient but they also had such a natural re-assuring manner with my son - they spent time asking him questions and even got a couple of giggles from him and by the time they came to remove the bandage and clean and glue his injury his was letting them do so without getting distressed.

Although we were only at the Minor Injuries Unit for a short while, I was delighted that he was under the care of such a lovely Nurse.

I would like to pass on my thanks that they made this hospital experience for my young son as pleasant as possible.

I have emailed their manager directly to express my thanks.

I hope the nurse continues to nurse for many years to come because they are clearly a natural and a credit to the NHS.
