"The whole team at the Nightingale centre..."

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

I first visited the Nightingale centre in March 2013, where I had a mammogram, scan biopsy and and initial dagnosis on my first visit. The diagnosis was cancer and I was devastated but the way the news was delivered and the level of care I received to that point meant I was fully assured that I would be receiving the best possible care by this fully informed, truly integrated professional team. I needed an MRI scan and returned for a consultation of the type of surgery I would require within a week of my initial visit. The consultant surgeon was fantastic and discussed surgical options clearly anc concisely. I had immediate access to a dedicated breast care nurse who ensured I had all the support and information throughout the whole clinical experience and beyond. The whole team gave me the time to understand next steps and set the pace so that I felt in control over what would happen next. I felt the full benefit of the dedicated mutidiciplinary team and breast care nurses who i can only describe as exceptional, truly fantastic at what they do. They have been there for me all the way. They ensured they support you throughout the whole experience, my surgery, aftercare and recovery have been as exactly as described by the team and made as painless as possible. I had to call the team for advice this year. Again the level and type of support has been exceptional, time.y sand I was treated with such dignity which has definitely enhanced my recovery and outlook. I would (and do) highly reccommend the Nightingale Centre to any one who needs to acces breast cancer care services. Please do pass on our thanks to the whole team at the Nightingale centre for everything you do for us. They deserve an award of the highest order.
