"Uodate to yesterdays review - Referral to A&E..."

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

Hooray ! Finally got my MRI scan at 8am this morning. It appears to be a unit controlled by BUPA and consequently was clean, welcoming, efficient and comfortable. At the end, I was asked who my scan should be sent to ! Its beyond my comprehension that my notes didn't tell them ? I explained I didn't know but presumed my Doctor should have it. Waiting now for a call in a few days to ask who my Doctor actually is ! So, one GP, one Doctor, one Senior Doctor, one Registrar and one Consultant have all put in their time (over ten hours collectively at professional rates) on this matter. All because the 'system restraints' they struggle to overcome isn't clearly defined. I estimate that it's probably cost around £500 in time and expenses to sort it out plus the eventual cost of the scan. So that's £700 spent in attempts to save around £200 which is the advertised price of the BUPA Scan if I had gone privately. Now that's something for the Clip-Boarders, Resource Managers and Accountants to consider. Top marks to West Mid Clinical Staff for providing such a wonderful (in such frustrating circumstances) service. Thank you.
