I started with abdominal pain & vaginal bleeding last week. On Monday it was really bad & ended up in a&e. Thought it was appendicitis. They did a pregnancy test & it was positive. The nurse looking after me broke the news & was really good with both my husband and I. I was taken up to ward 14 to the early pregnancy unit. There was a delay due to other emergencies, but we were kept informed. When we were seen, the Dr fully explained everything & was sensitive & caring. We were told it was likely to be a miscarriage, but could not rule out ectopic pregnancy. I had a scan the next day which confirmed an ectopic pregnancy. Again, everything was fully and sensitively explained. Nothing was too much trouble & when I needed painkillers they were really quick. From the cleaners to the Drs, everyone was brilliant. This is a busy ward with a lot of people with varying conditions. All staff to be commended for their sensitivity and caring attitude. Thank you. You made an upsetting and scary experience easier.
