I had an extremely difficult birth and if it wasn't for my lovely midwifes quick actions I would have lost my baby. I went into labour at 37 weeks pregnant after 2 days in slow labour my contractions had changed to one continuous pain getting stronger and slightly weaker so myself/ partner and mother set of to hospital. When we were 5 minutes away from the hospital my waters broke and I began to lose a lot of blood (in total I lost over 4litres of blood during the birth). I managed to walk up to the triage unit. I was seen my a lovely midwife (sadly I can't remember their name, but I wish I did so I could send them a thank you card) they were unable to find my baby's heartbeat. I was quickly rushed to the operating room and thanks to the staffs quick actions my baby was born alive and was safely in her daddy's arms within minutes. The staff did a great job in supporting my mum and partner during an anxious wait for me to come out of surgery. Shortly after I came round from surgery my baby was taken to NICU due to difficulties caused from inhaling my blood. So I couldn't see her straight away however the staff did everything they could to get me to NICU as soon as possible to meet her and hold her. My midwife wheeled me down there by themself which wasn't easy considering all the things I was hooked up too. They made my stay there very enjoyable it was like being cared for by close friends. I would recommend this hospital to anyone without their actions I wouldn't have my daughter.
