"Day Surgery Ward 12"

I was in Day Surgery in Ward 12 yesterday. As you'd expect I was nervous and full of fears about my procedure but from the minute I arrived at 7am I was made to feel confortable and was told exactly was was going to happen next.

Every member of staff that I met treated me with absolute respect and kindness. The receptionist, all the nursing staff, the porters, the anaesthetist and their team and the Consultant. It was obvious that it was a busy day for them but they worked really well together and liaison between ward and theatre staff was excellent.

The Ward was spotlessly clean and staff were continually checking and cleaning as the day went on. I felt that I had as much privavcy as I needed. The staff listened to me and all my questions were answered well. I knew at every stage of my procedure what was going to happen and what to expect. When I was discharged I was given clear instructions and a number to contact for support if necessary.

I hear a lot of criticism of UK NHS hospitals but I have nothing but praise for the staff at Trafford General. The sytems that are in place are working really well and the staff (although busy) are effective and human. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone I know who needs day surgery.
