"Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Manchester)

I was treated under the RMC following my third miscarriage. I found the whole process fantastic. I am from out of the area and I believe the travel was well worth the care recieved. The staff were all compassionate and understanding and were always avaliable for advice and reassurance. Despite funding being tight I truly believe that I have recieved the best possible care and I am currently 14 weeks as a result. No question was silly or too small - they were all taken seriously as I believe that staff really understood the worry that RM can bring, copies of my notes and scans were all forwarded to my local GP and midwife.

The fact that reassurance scans were offered fortnightly allowed me to relax, as with missed miscarriage the worry for a pregnant mother is that you won't know at which point the baby has died. This in itself reassured me and allowed this pregnancy to be far less stressful than previous ones.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff who have helped me in my care from my previous miscarriage to this point in this pregnancy, you have all been empathetic, understanding and professional and I really believe the care you have offered has allowed my pregnancy to progress to the stage that it has. I am looking forward to sending you a picture of this one when they are born.

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website regarding your care on the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic.

It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff.

It was reassuring to hear that you thought the staff treated you with compassion and understanding and this has enabled you to relax and feel less anxious throughout your pregnancy.

I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to Mrs Pam Kilcoyne, Lead Nurse for Gynaecology to share your kind words with the medical and nursing staff involved.
