"My daughter was admitted on the ward 72 to have..."

About: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

What I liked

My daughter was admitted on the ward 72 to have grommets inserted on the 19th feb.The nursing staff were all very friendly and the care we received was excellent. The Anaethetist was fantastic and had an excellent bedside manner. She was very thorough and spent time explaining her role.In the anaesthetic room she was excellent with my daughter and told her a lovely story about fairies which my daughter still remembers. The whole experience was made alot easier by all the staff involved in her care. The surgeon listened to my views on the sugery and came and fed back to my husband and i following surgery which was really reassuring.I can thank the staff enough for their excellent care.pre admission clinic were also excellent and very professional.

Anything else?

i feel the car parking charge of £ 15 because we were there over 6 hours is very excessive and should have beeen subsidised for hospital admission.I feel we were therefore penalised for being last on the theatre list.If we were first on the am list then the fees would have been less and so i feel it is unjust to take advantage in this way as it seems the longer you wait for surgery the more car parking you pay.I did ask if you could get a ticket to say you have been on the ward but was informed this no longer happened.( previously when my daughter was on the daycase in the eye hospital we did get a discounted rate)
