"Emergency admission"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Long wait for bed communication not great

Staff in all areas overworked no clear leadership, stained sheet, blood on curtains but rapid turnover of patients must make things very difficult to maintain.

Medics slow to get notes nearly discharged before further tests showed cancer, excellent manner and communication from Dr.

Window in room 7 larch a/b broken drafts and noises in high wind hope this is rectified soon.

Dear Sir/Madam

Please accept my apologies that your emergency admission has left you disappointed in some aspects of your care. I do hope that the treatment for your illness is progressing in a more positive manner.

The shortcomings you mention re the cleanliness is of obvious concern to me and I will pass your comments to the ward manager so that they may look into the staffing levels during the time period concerned to see if they can identify any issues that may have caused these less than acceptable conditions.

I will also notify the maintenance department about the window in room 7.

Many thanks for your feedback,

Alison
