"Poor patient communication"

About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital

I have just visited my sister on ward 7A and have to say am completely shocked at the poor communication to patients that I observed, she has been there 24hrs now and even though she ordered meals through the patients system, twice she has received no meal at all, when she questioned this, no satisfactory explanation was given and only a sandwich was provided. She was told on admitance that a neurologist would see har within 12 hrs, this didnt happen and when I questioned this was told that it was written in her notes but been overlooked! I had to ask the staff to please come and speak to her to let her know what was going on with regards to her treatment plan as no one had bothered to do this, she is not the type to want to bother anyone. So it would seem if you cant shout loudly you will be ignored here!
