"Great staff, but can't wait or recover with..."

About: Warrington Hospital

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy here. Care was second to none, nurses explained everything and put me at ease. Facilities were excellent and pretty speedy.

Overall, I was incredibly happy.

My only gripe is that I wasn't told beforehand that it was same sex. I came with my husband to support me, but he wasn't allowed to wait with me before or after the procedure. This meant that I was very stressed sitting on my own beforehand, and had to recover alone before calling him to come and pick me up, and he'd wasted a day of leave for nothing. I'd rather have the option to recover somewhere where I could have the support of my partner.

Thanks for your feedback on your care. yes, all endoscopy units tend to be same sex now with national guidelines but we will see if we can ensure people are aware of that fact beforehand. Sorry if it wasn't made clear.
