As a healthcare professional myself (unbeknown to the staff on my arrival), I was impressed by this Minor Injuries Unit.
I brought my 2 year old child with a cut to the head, and our experience exceeded my expectations.
Parking was free, and the MIU was well signposted.
I was greeted at reception without delay, and relevant details were taken efficiently.
Almost immediately after entering the waiting area, a health professional came out to check on the general condition of my child, to make sure he did not require urgent attention.
Although we had arrived just before the official closing time, there were people ahead of us to be seen.
My child was still seen after the stated last consultation time of 4pm.
The health professional who saw us was patient, kind, and compassionate.
They dealt very caringly and competently with me and my child, and treated my child quickly and definitively.
We were given definitive verbal and written advice on what to look out for, contacts, etc.
Overall, what could have been a very stressful and unpleasant experience went as smoothly as it could have been reasonably expected because of the professional care we received.
Thank you.
"Caring, efficient, and competent professionalism"
