"A&E visit following motorcycle accident."

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

I attended A&E on the 18.01.2016. The department was busy but I only had to wait a couple of minutes before being booked in by reception. The receptionist was sympathetic, caring and professional. 15 mins later I was seen by a triage nurse who again was very caring and professional. After an initial exam I was given pain killers and despatched to X Ray. The nurse even allowed me to leave my bulky m/c jacket and helmet to save me lugging them around. I only waited another 20 mins for my X rays to be done and returned to A&E. 10 mins later my X Rays were reviewed by a Doctor and a fractured collar bone was confirmed. I was given a sling, told that the fracture clinic would be in contact and I left. Less than 2 hours after walking in I was at home with a cup of tea! I was contacted the following day and an appointment for the fracture clinic was given that suited me best. Absolutely first class and the NHS at its best. This is my second encounter with Stoke Mandeville and this experience was as good as the last 3 yrs ago. Thank you.
