"I requested to go this hospital ..."

About: The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I requested to go this hospital for my out patient physio due to it's speciality and the fact that it was close to work and would be more convenient. However, I don't think that I should have bothered.

What could be improved

I found the physio department totally lacking in respect for the patients. My appointments were cancelled at short notice on three occasions, I witnessed a manager 'telling off' porters in the waiting room and my physio showed absolutely no interest in helping me. My appointments lasted about 3 minutes with the next 10 minutes waiting whilst she found her diary to book the next appointment!

Anything else?

It may be due to the age of the hospital but I found it degrading being treated in a curtained off area with no privacy, whilst the physios asked me and other patients about our personal difficulties. Maybe someone should train the staff in person-centred care - we are not a number to be processed!
