My 99 year old mother, Mona Barker, was admitted by ambulance to A&E on 9/1/16 with acute UTI and stroke symptoms. After tests she was admitted to May ward where she was treated until being discharged to her care home on 18/1/16.
She was extremely confused, weak and very prone to falls and needed sympathetic and very watchful care. We visited her on a number of occasions and each time were very impressed by the knowledge of all the staff of her condition and their willingness to discuss her treatment. The same was true of phone call enquiries we made through the period. They all treated her in a very kind and sympathetic manner and although she was unaware of where she was and what was happening she remained calm and comfortable throughout her stay.
We can not speak too highly of the treatment she received from everyone involved in her on the ward at a very vulnerable time in her life. Thank you so much.
