About: Darent Valley Hospital

I am writing this from Darenh Valley hospital at the moment. I took my 6 year son due to palpitations and chest pain. After registering with the receptionist I was told to sit and wait. The receptionist must have deemed it unnecessary to inform me it is meant to be at the Children A&E department. After sitting almost 2 hours my son started feeling the discomfort and I went back to the other receptionist and said it does not seem right I am waiting 2 hours with a little boy with chest pain. The receptionist then informed me I was in the wrong sitting room. I appreciate they are busy but that attitude could cause someone their life. The nurses and doctors work very hard and this should not be dampened by a receptionist.

This complaint has nothing to do with the service were receive as it was great but the attitude of the receptionist.

Thank you for your feedback. It is important to us that when people visit the hospital that their experience is as pleasant and professional as possible. It is always of concern when this is not the case and we will pass your comments onto the department. This way they can look into the concerns you have raised and see what needs to be done to make the necessary improvements.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention and we do hope that your son is feeling much better now.
