"Ward 19"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Greater London)

Family member recently stayed here. During his 4wk stay, he lost 12.5% of his original bodyweight.despite the need for modified food intake, No effort was made to ascertain the foods that he could and would eat.

No dietetic referral was made to prescribe nutritional supplements which would have helped to limit further weight loss.

Issuing the patients with menus will allow them to have ownership over what they eat and when.

Staff were involved in discussions about good choices but have ignored our suggestions/advice. We know him better him than any of the hospital staff. :-(
