"A tumble on New Year's Day"

About: Buxton Hospital

My partner and I visited the minor injuries unit at Buxton at about 6pm on New Years Day 2016.

We had taken it upon ourselves to walk up to Kinder Falls and my partner had slipped on the ice and fallen.

He had hit his head hard on a rock, his glasses digging into his forehead and leaving a rather nasty gash along his eyebrow (along with a lot of bleeding).

I cannot praise Buxton Hospital enough for their courteous and professional service.

From the moment we arrived they were upbeat and friendly.

My partner was given the option to have stitches there and then or go to Manchester to see a plastic surgeon.

He was made aware of what was going to happen and the pros and cons of each option.

He felt comfortable with the staff and confident in their abilities and so allowed them to stitch him back up.

We would not hesitate to return to the unit in the future (although we hope we have no need to!).

Robert was a little worried that he would have scarring following his incident, but I am very pleased to say that the wound is healing nicely and it looks like there will be very little left to see.

Thank you to all the staff at the minor injuries unit on New Year's Day 2016!

Thank you for taking time to go online and for your positive feedback. It is gratifying to hear that you had such a good experience of our skills and service. Although of course sorry you had the accident, pleased to hear that the wound has progressed well."
