I am extremely dissatisfied with the treatment my mother is currently receiving in Warrington Hospital. She has had major surgery and on her first night back on the ward her call button was left out of reach, she had to bang on a tray to get attention because she was dehydrated and needed water, when she was finally seen by a nurse she was left for a further half an hour before any body actually gave her a glass of water. Furthermore on her second day her saline drop ran out during the morning and it wasn't until approx 8 hours later when I arrived for visiting and noticed and brought it to the nurses attention that it was changed again leaving my mother extremely dehydrated. She has had major surgery on her bowels and her urine bag was not changed and left to over flow. She's only been in the hospital for 3 days so far and there have been at least 6 occasions where she has been left or ignored when needing help. Over all the treatment she has received thus far has been extremely neglectful. A patient on the same ward who had had the same opperation sadly passed away during the night and no additional checks were made on my mother to help her ease her fears over facing the same outcome. Generally I have observed that the wait for a member of staff after pressing the call button is at minimum 15 minutes, this is simply not acceptable. Anything can happen in such a long period of time and there is no rush to see to patients needs, I genuinely fear for her in case she has a serious emergency and presses the call button and there will be no response for such a long period of time! Disgraceful!!

Thanks for your feedback. I can understand that your mother has been nervous after such surgery. I believe you have made contact with us and that things have been sorted for you.
