My experience of Exeter RD&E Wonford hospital can only be described as perfect.
I entered the A&E department after suffering an epileptic seizure in a swimming pool.
I was brought to A&E and moved to Intensive care.
My family and i received compassionate care, without exception.
All care details were explained clearly by the Consultants and Drs
The ward and staff hygiene was as you would hope to find in a hospital, immaculate.
The nurses are courteous, gentle, funny, and amazingly well presented regardless of the hour of the day.
The tea staff are cheerful, making the day easier.
I really appreciated the personalized diary written for me by the departmental nurses, which filled in the huge gaps caused by unconsciousness and sedation .
I was moved to the Neurological ward for investigation and diagnosis once i was stabilized. This ward was much quieter and provided privacy with individual bays.
Comfortable stay once moved in.
The only minor gripe would be the length of time taken to be discharged from the ward once seen by the consultant. This was was caused entirely by the amount of time taken to receive the drugs once prescribed.
Perhaps a waiting area for those patients awaiting their prescriptions would free beds more quickly for the next needy patient.
