I have suffered from social anxiety disorder since I had a road accident in 2014. I was a very intelligent, healthy, inclined and mindful person but after this accident everyone noticed a difference in me, I started trying to be invisible in Social situations, (including parties, movies and social gatherings) were torture and further my conduct with office colleagues & friends turned out to be hot-tempered and snaky. I bulldozed my way through life, including dabbling in alcohol and smoking for relief of my anxiety and depression. In October 2014, there was a point when I thought literally to kill myself through some way.
I am living alone, hence there were no one with whom I can share my presumptions. I went through some pretty tough times throughout the year 2014 and then someone suggested me for IAPT services.
My first interaction with Vicky over the phone has given me a hope that there is someone with whom I can share my notions. In next three telephonic long conversations (on weekly basis), she assessed my state of mind & calmed me down from negativity and suggested for CBT Therapy. We had telephonic interactions in Dec 2014 and Jan 2015 after 4 months I received letters for CBT Therapy.
In July 2015 my treatment was started by CBT Psychotherapist Mr. Hoda. Thank you Mr. Huda, I will always be happy that I met you. He assessed me through one questionnaire and recount severe depression in July 2015 and then sessions followed by weekly appointments. I remember most of your positive abstractions by heart and will not forget the way you have explained. In short if I would describe in one line, “It was complete turning point for me”. My professional and personal life started getting better with all your suggestions and recommendations.
If I am looking myself now and a year back there is huge diversity, so Thanks to all the IAPT Ealing Team. Ms Vicky and Mr. Huda are really brilliant assets to the NHS, both are outstandingly careful and compassionate.
